“Yo! You survived a plane crash?”

I sigh as I hear that behind me.

“Yes, I did.” I say with no effort.

“That’s so sick dude, do you have any stories?” The guy said.

“No, not really.” I said. I just wanted to be by myself for a while. I walked away before the guy could say anything more. Once I get home from school I lay down in bed, the only thing coming to mind is the night of the crash. I’m thinking of all of the people on the plane that were screaming when we were falling. How it all went silent right when we crashed, how everything just went black. I get up from my bed trying to clear my mind by playing some basketball with my little brother. My brother didn’t go on the plane, only me. I start dribbling, but every time I dribble it’s as if I can hear the explosions from the plane, it’s like I can’t escape that night.

Once I fell asleep that night, I had a dream about the same plane I was on crashing right next to my house, I felt vulnerable. I wake up at around 4 in the morning to the sound of screaming down the road. I look out my window to see what’s going on, all I see are my parents and fire in the distance. I put on a shirt and shoes and run outside, my parents are freaking out.

“What’s going on?” I ask nervously.

“We don’t know bud.” Says my dad.

I start running down the road towards the big fire, my parents start yelling at me to come back, but I can’t even understand what they are saying. As I get closer and closer to the fire, I start to make out what it is. Once I got there I paused, it’s like everything just froze, I was in a state of shock. Like the dream I had earlier that night, the same plane I was in crashed right next to my house. I start to wonder if I can see the future. I erased my mind as I ran towards the plane, I wasn’t going to let anyone suffer. Firefighters are trying to tie the fire down, but it isn’t stopping. I run right through them as I see somebody’s face, a young person perhaps. Fire surrounds me as I keep trying to drag this person out, not knowing if they are even alive. I finally dragged them out, turns out it wasn’t a young person, it was my dad. I start to wonder who is the guy at my house?
