They get more attention with negativity. There was a boy named Danny and all he ever wanted was to be noticed.
Danny always tried helping out at school with simple things like picking up trash, helping classmates or even sharing his lunch with others but nobody cared for the kindness he was trying to show.
One day at lunch Danny saw a kid slip on something and fall in the cafeteria and he yelled out look everyone he slipped on a banana peel, everyone started to burst out with laughter. Danny felt bad but he was also really happy that people were laughing with him and other students even said that he was funny. Danny felt seen and not just hidden anymore; his name was finally known by others.
Danny thought back to the event in the cafeteria and thought to himself how the other students paid more attention to him doing something mean instead of him doing good deeds and being kind. Danny started spreading rumors about people, making jokes and embarrassing people. Danny started to get more popular and known at school, he was more happy than he has ever been. This has always been his dream.
As time went by people started to not like Danny again they would laugh at his jokes but they were uncomfortable around him and they didn’t really like him. Danny was upset and honestly embarrassed for who had become over wanting to be seen by others.
A few days later Danny saw the same kid that he laughed at when he fell in the cafeteria and he saw him helping up a kid who fell. Danny seeing this made him realize even though he embarrassed that kid he didn’t care what people thought of him he was just nice to people. This made Danny think about who he was as a person and how now he understands the difference between attention and appreciation. Danny realized that he worked so hard to become someone people noticed and knew and not someone that people liked and respected for who he was.
Danny started becoming nicer to people and back to his old self not caring about the attention for others anymore. Danny actually made it up to the kid he laughed at and they became friends. Danny went back to being his old self doing good deeds like picking up the trash and helping other kids, Danny was recognized by the others for who he truly is.

I like the way you conectedthekid that he bullied at first that was very cool. And I loved that you showed how both are similar and different at the same time.
