“They get more attention with negativity.” My friend said. It was lunchtime at Jackson High School and my friend Emilio was telling me about Jake and Derrick, the two so-called “bullies” at our school. “Earlier today, I watched them take half of some random kids’ lunch, and eat it right in front of them, ” Emilio exclaimed. “Did that kid say anything about it?” I asked. Emilio stated, “I don’t know” which was hard to hear considering the fact he had half a turkey sandwich in his mouth. “It doesn’t really matter though, because they actually suck at bullying” Emilio said while getting down the last of his sandwich. “They are definitely trying to be tough, but they aren’t doing a good job, you could probably-” Emilio was cut off by the bell ringing”. “Tell me more tomorrow” I exclaimed, then went on about my day as usual.

My day went about fine, except for the last period. Coincidentally, in that last period, I had both Jake and Derrick in the class. It went fine until the bell had hit 1:00, ten minutes before we were dismissed. Jake thought that the time had meant he was able to do whatever he wanted, because the next thing I knew, I saw him get up out of his chair, walk to some kid, and push him over in his chair. Jake must have been weak however, because he wasn’t able to push the kid out of his chair fully. This has made Jake obviously embarrassed, but it got a lot better after that. Once Jake had realized the kid didn’t fall out of his chair he tried it again, with a different method. Instead of pushing him out, he was going to try and grab the back of the chair and forcefully pull him out. This didn’t happen though, because on the way, that kid put his foot out, and next thing you know, Jake was on the floor. Although Derrick was also in the classroom, he had at this point just turned around to the board and pretended like he didn’t even know Jake. After he got up, Jake’s pride was so hurt that everyone he was trying to impress were laughing at him, he ended up leaving the classroom early, and that was the end of that. The next day, nothing happened, and that continued on. Maybe they should have been more positive.
