“On Monday, she got the call that they were being shut down.” Mrs. Miller, the co-owner of The Millers Bakery, had just gotten the heartbreaking news from the owner of the building that her family has been renting for years. This was a really hard and emotional time for the millers because they have been struggling to pay rent, and this was a moment they did not want to happen.
This business is run by the Miller family Dan, Jill, and their son Connor. The Millers bakery was the town’s favorite because of their famous blueberry muffins. People have gone to the Millers bakery for years and hearing that they are closing down, it was a real burden. Their bakery was located in Princeton New Jersey where they had to pay rent that they can no longer afford. They have had this business for a long time, and recently money was getting a little tight for them since they had to pay rent for the bakery and support themselves.
The bakery has been the Millers main source of income since they first opened. This is very emotional and stressful for them because they have had this business open for years, but now they need a new way to support themselves. The owner of the strip mall gave them a two weeks notice to move out. This was very upsetting for the Millers because the town loves their muffins. After hearing this and knowing how upset the people were and how much this is affecting the family, Connor knew that he needed to do something to help out– And so he went looking for jobs. Connor started calling places and he found a job with a construction business.
Connor started to work as much as he could, saving up money to help his family get the bakery back. Connor has been with this company for a few months now and has saved up a good amount of money to give to his parents but unfortunately it was not enough. Connor’s parents are so happy and proud of how hard Connor has worked to try and help get the bakery back open, Unfortunately the Miller family had to accept what has happened to their bakery and try to move on with their lives. The Millers will miss seeing the customers happy faces while they were enjoying a nice warm Blueberry muffin.
