I lowkey want to thrift it this year,
All the things that I get for other people.
People buy so easily without thinking about the impact, I fear.
Eventually, this waste is bound to become lethal.

Perhaps it’s the ease of just clicking purchase online,
Or maybe it’s the feeling of getting something new.
It should be taken into consideration the impact this will have at the endline.
Resources are being plowed through, and people don’t have a clue.

Fast fashion has become a quickly growing trend,
And it is filling landfills like there’s no tomorrow.
Things aren’t going to be sustainable if we don’t bring this to an end,
But there’s a shame in buying from thrift stores in today’s milieu.

To better our planet, we need to do something about this situation.
Whether it’s thinking before making a compulsive purchase,
There are other ways to make your clothes new, like alteration.
We don’t need to feed into the crazy amount of waste, and do Earth a service.

This isn’t just to benefit the future generation,
But rather just to improve our lives and our world.
All the Earth needs is a little love and dedication,
And perhaps its beauty will once again be unfurled.
