“They get more attention with negativity.”

In an open field there sits an old farmer.
He lives in one of the best spots the world has to offer.
That spot is ancient Babylon.
At this time Babylon is the most advanced civilization in the world.

He goes out in the early mornings to admire his crops.
He doesn’t own much just enough to live off of.
Most of what he owns was passed down from his family, a small farm, some cattle and a few crops.

His days are very simple.
He wakes up just before sunrise and admires the silence.
Then he tends to his few cattle and harvests a few crops.
For the rest of the day he relaxes in the sun.
loungned back in his chair with a big smile on his face, no stress and he is fully satisfied with himself.

Yet he’s noticed the world is in a fret.
Everything that is negative seems to get everyone’s attention.
Wealthy businessmen filled their pockets with gold buying out companies leaving families counting every coin.
New buildings rose up above the city streets where beggars lie below.
It was a city of dazzling beauty and dire poverty.
In the town square there was always news of a failed business man.
Or stories of failed harvests
Or even family drama.

The farmer notices that the negativity spreads quickly as people find it more entertaining.
While a nice remark will slide as undetected.
Later that night the farmer goes to his porch to watch the sunset.
The oranges, pinks, yellows are beautiful as each second passes the crest of the land swallows the sun.
Then the white moonlight casts over the land.
He looks up into the dark starry sky; there is no light to disturb him, just himself and the night.
The slight breeze of wind hits his chest putting him to sleep.
This simple life is much more peaceful.
