“Your problem is not my problem,” Charlie grumbles as he slams the door in the older man’s face. He was in the middle of a crucial game, and this senile man knocked at his door, saying he needed an old rusty saw. Charlie throws the saw away, which makes a loud metal clang as it hits the tile floor, and he kicks it into a pile of random items he’s too lazy to pick up and find a proper place for.

“You’ll need this; you know you will. What the hell could I use this saw for? Guess it’ll just be more clutter on my floor until trash day…” Charlie mocks the older man as he walks to his room to return to his game, but his computer is off when he enters. He presses the power button, thinking maybe he had turned it off out of instinct when he went to answer the door, but it still wouldn’t turn on. He checks to see if it maybe got accidentally unplugged by Church, his ancient cat that could survive off of sunlight if he wanted to. To his surprise, the computer’s power cord is still plugged into the wall.

“Damn it, there goes $1500 right down the drain. That little sh*t must have chewed the power cord.” Charlie curses as he stands up from his desk and searches for the little culprit. “Church, get out here, you little menace.” He continues to search for his cat but still can not find him. He looks in the closet, behind his desk, in and behind the dresser, everywhere the cat could be hiding in his room, but still finds no sign of Church. Charlie hears a creak from out in the kitchen and leaves his room to check what the cat has gotten into this time, but once he arrives in the kitchen, he still doesn’t find Church.

“Church, if you’re into the treats again, I swear to God I’ll-” he pauses as he sees a tall figure standing in his kitchen with the old rusty saw in hand. The figure turns to him, their face covered by a white hockey mask with two red streaks under the eyes and one right above the nose. Charlie freezes momentarily before sprinting for his apartment door, the figure chasing after him. He pulls at the door handle, but it doesn’t budge even though it is unlocked. The weight of the situation catches up to Charlie, and he turns to face the figure with the rusty saw in their hand. He closes his eyes as the figure approaches him, and he can feel his body fall to the floor as the figure strikes him on the top of his head. He loses consciousness as he hears those famous words he had heard on the news a few days prior, “I told you you would need these, but it looks like I needed them instead.”
